Sergeant John Thomas PEACOCK, L/9278,  2nd  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died at Afron-Kara-Hissaar, Constantinople, whilst a Prisoner of War, with Mesopotamia Expeditionary Force, 5th November 1916, age 27.

Born Preston, Lancashire, son of John & Mary Ellen Peacock.

21st April 1889, Christ Church, Fulwood, Lancashire, baptism of John Thomas Peacock, son of John, (Gunner, Royal Artillery), & Mary Ellen Peacock, Fulborn Barracks. Enlisted Woolwich, Kent.


1911 Census - India, Military - John Thomas Peacock, Private, age 22, single, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, Soldier, born Preston, Lancashire.


Next of Kin (sister ) - Rose Meakin.

3rd July 1915, posted Asiatic Theatre of War.

Buried at Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, XXI. M. 36., Iraq.
