Born Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, son of James and Annie Hunter, of 19, Ardlui Road, Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Next of Kin, (sister) - Elizabeth Hughes.

6th September 1916, Probate - Hunter, James Sergeant, 6th Royal West Kent Regiment, sometime Assistant Borough Engineer, Bromley Kent, latterly residing at 19, Ardlui Road, Ayr, died 18th March 1916, in France, testate. Confirmation granted at Ayr, 6th September, to Elizabeth Hunter or Hughes, wife of William Hughes, Post Office Clerk, 19, Ardlui Road, aforesaid. Executrix nominated in Will or Deed, dated 1st June 1915, and recorded in Court Books of Commissariot of Ayr, 28th August 1916. Value of Estate, £266 13s.
