His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non-commissioned Officers, and Men, for gallantry and distinguished service in the Field:—
Serjeant H W COX, L/11136, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment.
For conspicuous gallantry while leading his platoon to clear marshy ground of the enemy. When held up by machine guns he personally worked round the flank and silenced them with bombs. Though severely wounded, on reaching the objective, he remained to superintend the consolidation.
