Serjeant Frank ANDREWS, G/24256, 10th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds received in action, Flanders, France, 7th May 1917, age 26.
Born Gillingham, Kent, enlisted 16th October 1914, Chatham, Kent. Served with the Expeditionary Force in France & Flanders from 23rd December 1916
Educated at Goldsmith's College & Byron Road Council School, Gillingham, Kent, where he became a candidate for pupil-teachership in 1904; transferred to Napier Road Council School as a Pupil Teacher and subsequently was appointed as Master at Byron Road School.
Son of John Andrews, 60 Bedford Place, Aberdeen.
Married 25th September 1915, Gillingham, Kent, Hilda Evelyn of 393, Canterbury Road, Gillingham, Kent, daughter of Frederick Perkins of Gillingham , Kent, HM Civil Service by his wife Jane Amy daughter of William Brown of Gillingham, Kent.
Buried at Dickebusch New Military Cemetery, BB.23., Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
