His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to award the Military Medal for bravery in the field to the under mentioned Non-Commissioned Officers and men: 

6525 Pte. E. H. Cherriman, Royal West Kent Regiment.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of a Bar to the Military Medal to the under mentioned Non - Commissioned Officers and Men :

G/6525 Cpl. E. H. Cherriman, Royal West Kent Regiment. (Shoreham-by-Sea).

His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non-commissioned Officers, and Men, for gallantry and distinguished service in the Field:

6525 Serjeant E. H. Cherriman, M.M., Royal West Kent Regiment (Shoreham-by-Sea).

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an enemy attack. He repeatedly performed dangerous tasks with efficiency, and one night went out alone and captured one of an enemy patrol.

26th November 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds. Silver War Badge issued
