Sergeant Charles William MAY, TR/10/40094, 12th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 16059, Royal West Kents), died at Home, 20th May 1918,  age 38.

1880, born Sonning, Berkshire, son of John and Elizabeth May.

1909, Linton, Cambridgeshire, married Ethel May Joyce.

1911 Census - 27 Haringey Road, Middle Lane, Hornsey, London N - Charles William May, head, age 30, married, warehouse porter, drapers, worker, born Twyford, Berkshire; Ethel May May, wife, age 38, married 1 year, 1 child, still alive, born Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire; Florence Hilda May, daughter, age 11 months, born Heornsey, Middlesex; Elizabeth May, mother, age 59, widow, laundress, own account, at home, born Wilburton, Cambridgeshire; Florence Elizabeth May, sister, age 26, single, laundress, own account, at home, born Islington, Middlesex.

Children - Florence Hilda May, born 29th April 1911, Edmonton; Charles Colin May, born 4th February 1913. born Edmonton.

Enlisted Tottenham, Middlesex. Resided 81, Loper Road, Silver Street, Edmonton.

Buried  at Edmonton Cemetery, F. 405., Middlesex.

NOTE; Shown in Soldiers Died in the Great War as serving in the 12th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment,: CWGC web site show this soldier serving with the 51st Battalion,  Royal Sussex Regiment.
