Enlisted Chatham, Kent, age 20 years & 331 days, height 5ft 6½ inches, weight 140lbs, fresh complexion, grey eyes, light brown hair.  Resided Hoo near Rochester, Kent. Formerly excavator.

Home, 31st August 1914 to 31st May 1915; BEF, 1st June 1915 to 3rd July 1916.

31st August 1914, enlisted; 1st September 1914, joined Battalion, at Chatham; 2nd September 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd September 1914, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;

15th January 1916, Hoo, Kent, married Margaret Eliza Bennett, spinster, 4 Clay Hill, Bells Lane, Hoo, nr Rochester, Kent.

3rd March 1916, attended 12 Div School of Instruction; 17th March 1916, rejoined Battalion: 18th March 1916, wounded slight at Duty; 1st June 1915, embarked.

22nd  January 1917, pension of 10/- a week awarded to widow.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C Somme, France.
