Born Greenwich, SE, son of the late John and Elizabeth Merrett.

1913 June, Walter Merrett, married Mary Elizabeth Styles, of 48, Northam Street, Lewisham, London.

9th August 1908, enlisted Maidstone, Kent / Greenwich Kent. Formerly wood chopper.

Commemorated at Le Touret Memorial, Panel 30 and 31., France.

NOTE: Regimental History & Soldiers Died in the Great War show lastname as MERRITT: CWGC web site show it as MERRETT.
