Enlisted Deptford, SE, age 19 years & 356 days, height 5ft 4½ inches, weight 112lbs, mole right shoulder and under right breast.  Resided 15, Wilson Street, New Cross, SE. Formerly labourer.

Separation Allowance of 5/9 a week & Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week payable to father.

9th November 1915, enlisted posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd February 1916 to 1st March 1916, coryza; 2nd May 1916, Southampton, embarked; 3rd May 1916, Havre, disembarked; 28th April 1917, Wimereux, 32 Stationary Hospital, wounded, gun shot wound, left knee joint, periostitis left femur; 30th April 1917, transferred to England; 1st May to 5th May 1917, Dover Military Hospital, gun shot wound, died from acute septicaemia.

Buried at Dover (St James) Cemetery, L. H. 5., Dover, Kent.
