Enlisted  Guildford, Surrey, age 25, height 5ft 5½ inches, weight 112lbs, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, scar index finger, left hand.  Resided Doras Green, Ewshott, Hampshire. Formerly baker.

Home, 12th September 1914 to 22nd January 1916; BEF France, 23rd January 1916 to 4th January 1917; Home 5th January 1917 to 9th March 1917.

12th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd November 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 20th December 1915, Brigade Signalling School, Belvedere, qualified as 1st Class Signaller; 23rd January 1916, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment;  2nd December 1916, bronchitis, to Hospital Ship Dunluce Castle, ex 2nd Canadian General Hospital Le Treport, transferred to England; 5th January 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th January 1917, The County of Middlesex War Hospital, Napsbury, St Albans, pulmonary tuberculosis; 16th February 1917, Medical Board held at The County of Middlesex War Hospital, Napsbury, St Albans and approval given to discharge; 9th March 1917, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness.  Silver War Badge issued.

10th February 1921, Statement of Relatives - Grandmother, Mary Brown, Doras Green, Ewshott, Hampshire.

Buried at Englefield Green Cemetery, 10. 772.,  United Kingdom.
