Born Otham, Maidstone, Kent, son of Edward and Alice (deceased 20th October 1917), Burden, of Syringa Villa, Summerfield, Woodnesborough, Eastry, Kent. In January 1922, Mr E Burden at 3 Host Cottage, Barnswell Staple, near Canterbury, Kent.
Enlisted Hastings, Sussex, age 29 years & 3 months, height 5ft 8¾ inches, weight 159lbs. large scar over right lower ribs, accident 4 years ago, 2 ribs broken & removed. Resided Winsborough, Sandwich, Kent. Formerly miner.
