Private Sydney Herbert EVANS, G/7916,  2nd / 4th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 6722, A.P.C.), killed in action, Egypt, 4th November 1917, age 41. 

Born Hampstead, Middlesex, son of Edwin Hill Evans, of Hampstead, London.

5th May 1902, Proceedings at the Old Bailey in the case of Charles Douglas for deception & fraud. Sidney Herbert Evans, hosier, of Station Parade, Hampstead, gave evidence as a witness.

1908, March Quarter, Islington Registration District, Herbert Sydney Evans married Pauline Agnes Aitchison, of 1, Albion Terrace, Horsham, Sussex.

Enlisted London.  Resided Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

Buried at Beersheba War Cemetery, G.20., Israel.
