Home 15th May 1916 to 28th August 1916; BEF 29th August 1916 to 4th October 1916.

15th May 1916, enlisted & posted 29th Royal Fusiliers, Service No.PS.11560; 29th to 31sr July 1916, Edinburgh, overstaying furlough from midnight 29th July to 7.30am 31st July, 31½ hours, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 21st August 1916, Edinburgh, absent from Barracks at Tattoo & until 11.25pm same day without a pass, 3 days confined to Barracks; 29th August 1916, posted BEF & 11th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, embarked; 10th September 1916, transferred to 7th  Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

16th September 1921, War Office Memo - Records to retain medals pending application which is to be forwarded to the War Office.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, Somme, France.

In pursuance of "The Regimental Debts Act, 1893," notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Soldiers named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the "Army List," and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.

Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to "The Secretary, War Office, Imperial Institute, South Kensington, London, S. W. 7," and marked outside "Effects."
