Home 11th December 1915 to 3rd October 1916; BEF 4th October 1916 to 25th July 1917.

11th December 1915, enlisted; 12th December 1915 to Army Reserve; 15th June 1916, mobilized and posted Depot, Royal Fusiliers, Service No. G/37980; 16th June 1916, posted 16th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers; 1st September 1916, transferred to Training Reserve & posted 22nd Training Reserve Battalion; 4th October 1916, posted BEF & embarked & transferred to 26th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers; 14th October 1916, transferred to 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th October 1916, joined Battalion;

20th January 1917, Field General Court Martial - Charge - neglect to the prejudice of good order & military discipline, in that he in the Field on the 1st January 1917 negligently discharged his rifle thereby wounding No.710 Pte James of the same Battalion in the wrist. Finding - guilty. Sentence - 28 days Field Punishment No.1. Awaiting Trial 18 days;

18th July 1917, wounded in the field; 25th July 1917, 17 Casualty Clearing Station, reports died of lethal gas shell.

4th February 1918, pension of 18/9 a week awarded to widow and child.
