Born Paddington, London, son of Joseph and Susan Munday, of 1, Moorelands Road, Bromley, Kent.


1911 Census - 1, Moorelands Road, Bromley, Kent - Susan Munday, head, age 53, widow, needlewoman, born Penn, Buckinghamshire; Joseph Munday, son, age 30, single, bricklayer, worker, born Marylebone; Betsy Ray, mother, age 75, widow, born Penn, Buckinghamshire.


Enlisted Bromley, Kent, age 34 years & 1 month, height 5ft 8½ inches, weight 156lbs. Formerly bricklayer.

3rd November 1914, enlisted; 5th November 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 6th November 1914, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 30th May 1915, Shoreham, overstaying his pass from midnight until 1.00pm 31st May 1915, 5 days confined to Barracks, foefeits 1 days pay;  4th October 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th January 1916, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th March 1916, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 4th August 1916, posted missing.

2nd April 1917, date when Separation Allowance of 9/- a week and Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week, payable to mother, will cease.

Buried at Pozieres British Cemetery, IV. H. 35., Ovillers-la-Boiselle, France. Commemorated on Bromley War Memorial.
