Born Sevenoaks, Kent, son of James & Georgina Ferguson, (formerly Heath).

20th March 1907, enlisted Maidstone, Kent. Formerly farm labourer.


1901 Census - Huts?, Otford Road, Otford, Sevenoaks - James Heath, head, married, age 44, horse driver (local board), worker, born Sevenoaks, Kent; Georgina Heath, wife, married, age 37, born Shoreham, Kent; James Heath, son, age 14, errand boy (milk trade), worker, born Sevenoaks, Kent; Emily Heath, daughter, age 12, born Sevenoaks, Kent; William Heath, son, age 10,  born Sevenoaks, Kent; George Heath, son, age 8,  born Sevenoaks, Kent; Elsie Heath, daughter, age 6,  born Sevenoaks, Kent; Reuben Heath, son, age 2, born Otford, Kent.


1911 Census - India Military - James Henry Heath, Private, age 24, single, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, Soldier, born Sevenoaks, Kent.

Note - Although second christian name is different this appears to be the right person.


Commemorated at Kirkee 1914-1918 Memorial, Face 7., India.

NOTE: Soldiers Died in the Great War show date of death as 24th January 1915; CWGC web site show date of death as 25th January 1915
