20th February 1914, enlisted; 2nd April 1914, Maidstone, absent from Hospital at 5.15p. & stating a falsehood to an NCO, five days confined to Barracks; 25th April 1914, Maidstone, striking an NCO & damaging Government Property, 10 days detention & to pay for the damage; 28th April 1914, Maidstone, drunk & disorderly behaviour, fined 5/- and 8/4 costs by Civil Powers; 28th August 1914, Lodge Hill, absent from 5.30pm to 11.30pm on 31st, awarded 4 days Field Punishment No.2. & forfeits 4 days pay; 5th August 1914, mobilized & posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd September 1914, Lodge Hill, insubordinate behaviour while undergoing Field Punishment & reporting sick without a cause, deprived of 5 days pay; 2nd October 1914, absent until 5th when arrested by Police, seven days confined to Barracks & deprived 8 days pay; 26th October 1914, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th October 1914, 5 Infantry Base Depot; 4th November 1914, joined Battalion, "D" Company; 24th March 1915, 54 Field Ambulance, wounded, bruised badly, remained at Duty; 22nd April 1916, Whilst on Active Service, losing by neglect his identity disc, deprived 7 days pay; 9th August 1916, Whilst on Active Service, overstaying his pass from 9pm until found in his bivouac at Reveille, deprived 10 days pay, forfeits 1 days pay; 19th April 1917, wounded, at Duty;
