Enlisted Nelson, Lancashire, age 19, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 126lbs. Formerly carter.
22nd January 1915, enlisted; 14th August 1915, Blackdown, quitting Camp without permission & remaining absent until 10.30pm 15th August, deprived of two days pay, forfeits 2 days pay; 26th September 1915, posted missing; 22nd October 1915, Prisoner of War, Feldlag 1, Carvin, flesh wounds both legs, frost bitten feet; 26th October 1915, died in Feldlag 8, Carvin.
Buried at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, XV. L. 22., Souchez, Pas de Calais, France.
