8th May 1898, St Andrews Church, Willesden, baptism of John Brooker, son of Henry & Louisa Brooker.
Enlisted Hounslow, Middlesex, age 18, height 5ft 4⅛ inches, weight 120lbs, indistinct tattooing right and left forearms, ring 3rd finger right hand, scar left knee, scar right eyebrow, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair. Formerly general & slaters labourer.
2nd March 1912, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th June 1912, posted 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 5th October 1912, Dublin, 15 minutes late parading for fatigues at 6.30am, 5 days confined to Barracks; 27th October 1912, Dublin, having a rusty bayonet when parading for ????? picket, 5 days confined to Barracks; 20th November 1912, Dublin, stating a falsehood to Sgt Maj Doe, 7 days confined to Barracks; 5th February 1913, Dublin, making an insubordinate remark to Lance Corporal, 168 hours detention; 25th February 1913, Dublin, laughing on parade, 3 days confined to Barracks; 6th March 1913 to 19th March 1913, King George V hospital Dublin, abscess on shoulder; 1st April 1913, Dublin, hair not cut on Guard Mounting Parade, 2 extra Guards; 18th August 1913, not attempting to keep up with the Company when ordered to charge, 5 days confined to barracks; 23rd April 1914, Dublin, entering the guardroom when a sentry on quarter guard, 10 days confined to Barracks; 23rd August 1914, posted missing.
