Born Limpsfield, Surrey, son of  George and Eliza Beard.

Previously served with 1st Volunteer Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

Enlisted Tonbridge, Kent, age 36, height 5ft 10½ inches. Resided Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent. Formerly drayman.

Home 8th February 1915 to 30th April 1915; BEF1st May 1915 to 20th July 1916.

8th February 1915, enlisted; 9th February 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st February 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st May 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd May 1915, landed at 15 Infantry Base Depot; 4th May 1915, joined Battalion, "D" Company; 20th July 1916, wounded; 20th July 1916, 13 Field Ambulance, died of wounds, buried ½ mile North of Mountauban, France.

16th July 1921, British War & Victory Medal receipt signed by Mrs E J Bowles, daughter of the late George Beard.

Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Pier and Face 11C, Somme, France.
