Private John Alfred HARDING, G/20231, 1st   Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, (formerly 204805, London Regiment), died of wounds, Flanders France, 8th November 1917, age 25.

28th March 1916, The Vicarage, 70 Haverstock Hill, NW, St Martins, Kentish Town, Camden - Appeared Personally, John Alfred Harding of the Parish of St Martin, Gospel Oak, in the County of Middlesex a bachelor of the age of twenty years and prayed a Licence for the solemnization of Matrimony in the Parish Church of St Martin, Gospel Oak, aforesaid between him and Emma Francis of the Parish of St Martin, Gospel Oak, in the County of Middlesex a spinster of tge age of twenty years and made oath that he believeth that there is no impediment of Kindred or Alliance, or any other lawful cause, nor any Suit commenced in any Ecclesiastical Court  to bar or hinder the Proceeding of the said Matrimony, according to the tenor of such Licence. And he further made Oath that he the said Appender hath had his usual place of abode within the said Parish of  St Martin, Gospel Oak, for the space of fifteen days last past. And lastly he made Oath that the consent of George Thomas Harding the natural and lawful father of John Alfred Harding hath been obtained to the said marriage and also the consent of James Francis the natural and lawful father of the said Emma Francis has been obtained to the said marriage.

9th September 1917, St Martins, Kentish Town, Camden, baptism of Ethel Harding, born 24th August 1917, daughter of John Alfred, (soldier), & Emma Harding, 4 Carlton Road.

Buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, XXII. E. 12A, Belgium.
