Enlisted poplar, age 17, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 114lbs, scar on right jaw. Resided 545 Manchester Road, Poplar, E. Formerly seaman.

6th November 1916, enlisted; 7th November 1916, to Army Reserve; 16th February 1917, mobilized; 17th February 1917, posted 97th Training Reserve Battalion; 21st June 1917, transferred & posted 209th Infantry Battalion, 51st (Grad) Training Reserve; 1st December 1917, posted BEF & Middlesex Regiment; 27th December 1917, Sheringham, when on final leave, overstaying his pass from 22.30 until 21.50 28th, deprived of 4 days pay, forfeits 2 days pay; 29th January 1918, 41st Battalion, Middlesex, Infantry Base Depot, Etaples; 31st January 1918, transferred to 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.
