Enlisted Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, age 29 years & 171 days, height 5ft 3¼ inches, weight 128lbs, scar front right thigh. Resided 9 Speechley Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Formerly joiner.

Home 6th June 1916 to 25th June 1917; BEF 26th June 1917 to 24th April 1918.

6th June 1916, enlisted; 7th June 1916, to Army Reserve; 3rd April 1917, mobilized; 5th April 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, Service No.83298; 26th June 1917, posted BEF; 21st July 1917, transferred to Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st July 1917, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th April 1918, reported missing.

22nd December 1918, Separation Allowance of 19/6 a week, payable to wife will cease on this date.

23rd December 1918, a pension of 20/5 a week has been awarded to widow & one child.

31st July 1919, War Office report - "I beg to inform you that for various reasons it has been found necessary to exhume the bodies buried in certain areas and to reinter them, and the bodies of the men mentioned on the attached sheet have been removed and buried in Adelaide Cemetery, 2 miles South of Corbie. The new graves have been duly marked with a cross bearing all particulars and registered in this office. The removals have been undertaken with every measure of care and reverence and the re-burials conducted by Military Chaplains. Please inform the next of kin."
