Private Herbert SWAN, G/11882, 8th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds,  Flanders France, 30th June 1916, age 23.

Born Ipswich, Suffolk, enlisted 10th December 1915, Croydon, Surrey, age 22, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 130lbs, resided 44 Stembridge Road, Anerley, Surrey. Formerly insurance agent.

Son of George E and Hannah Swan, of 30, Chenery St., Ipswich, Suffolk.

Home, 10th December 1915, To Army Reserve 11th December 1915, Mobilized 22nd January 1916, BEF, 18th May 1916 to 30th June 1916.

26th April 1916, Shoreham by Sea, overstaying his pass, from midnight until 2.00pm the 257th inst, admonished, forfeits one days pay.

30th June 1916, 73rd Field Ambulance, multiple wounds.

Buried at Dranoutre Military Cemetery, I. F. 18., Belgium.
