Private Herbert Richard MINNETT, G/27348,  2nd / 4th  Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Egypt, 4th November  1917.

Born March, Cambridgeshire, son of Thomas & Mary Ann Minett.

1911 Census - Westfield, Manea, Cambridgeshire - Arthur Minett, head, age 35, married, farmer, own account, born Manea, Cambridgeshire; Mary Ann Minett, wife, age 39, married 7 years, no children, born Polebrook, Northamptonshire; Lucy Stokes, niece, age 5, born West Deeping, Lincolnshire; Herbert Richard Minett, brother, age 33, single, farmer, own account, born Manea, Cambridgeshire.

1911 December, North Witchford, Cambridgeshire married Sarah Cave.

Children - Leonard Minett, born 16th April 1912, March, Cambridgeshire; Gerald Minett, born 17th February 1914, March, Cambridgeshire. 

Enlisted March, Cambridgeshire. 

30th July 1918, Probate - Herbert Minett, of Manea, Cambridgeshire. Private West Kent Regiment, died 3rd November 1917, in France. Probate Peterborough 30 July to Peter Grainger, farmer  & John Cooke Gautrey, solicitors clerk. Effects £611 17s 3d.

Commemorated at Jerusalem Memorial, Panel 41., Israel & on Manea, Cambridgeshire War Memorial.

NOTE: Regimental History & Soldiers Died in the Great War show lastname as MINNETT;  CWGC web site show it as MINETT.
