Private Harry (Henry Edward) MERCER, 200373, 3rd/4th  Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, killed in action, Flanders France, 11th November 1917, age 20.

Born April 1897, Maidstone Kent, son of Edward Ernest & Florence Mercer, of "Glendale," Hilda Road, Sheerness East, Kent. 

1911 Census - 51 St John Street, Maidstone Kent - Edward E Mercer, head, age 36, married, shoeing smith, worker, born Whitehill, Faversham; Florence Mercer, wife, age 39, married 14 years, 4 children, all still alive, born Maidstone; Charles Whitehead, boarder, age 78, widower, gardener domestic, worker, born Stockbury; Harry Mercer, son, age 13, school, born Maidstone; Rosetta Mercer, daughter, age 12, school, born Maidstone; Olive Mercer, daughter, age 9, school, born Maidstone; Victor Mercer, son, age 2, born Maidstone.

Enlisted Maidstone Kent.

Buried at  Talana Farm Cemetery,  III. K. 15.   Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium and Commemorated at St. Mary and All Saints Church, Boxley Kent.
