Previously 3 years in Territorials.

Enlisted Hitchin, Hertfordshire, age 21, height 5ft 6½ inches, weight 126lbs, vaccination marks 8 left arm, fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair. Resided 41 Alexander Road, Englefield Green, Surrey. Formerly railway porter.

Home 9th September 1914 to 25th July 1915; BEF 26th July 1915 to 27th June 1916.

3rd April 1915, Register Officer, Windsor, Berkshire, married Ada Alice Filsell, spinster.

9th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 11th September 1914, posted 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 27th August 1915, 55 Field Ambulance, wounded in the Field, shell wound, left arm; 27th August 1915, 5 Casualty Clearing Station; 25th September 1915, to Infantry Base Depot, Etaples, ex 23 General Hospital; 28th September 1915, joined Battalion; 26th June 1916, wounded in action.

15th January 1917, widow awarded a pension of 10/- a week.
