Born 15th April 1886, East Guildford, Sussex, son of Spencer and Angelina Brooman, (daughter of Mr Foster of Rye, Sussex), Daniel Place, Military Road, Rye, Sussex.

Educated at Rye; was a chemists assistant at Rye.

Enlisted Chichester, Sussex. Resided 2 Daniel Place, Military Road, Rye, Sussex.

Served as a Corporal with the 5th Territorial Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment for 12 years and with the Expeditionary Force in France & Flanders from 18th February 1915; wounded at Richebourg, May 1915 & invalided home; 1st August 1916, returned to France.

1st September 1917, Probate - Brooman Horace, of 2 Daniel Place, Military Road, Rye, Sussex. Private H.M. Army died 26th July 1917, in France, on Active Service. Administration London 1st September to Spencer Brooman, pensioner. Effects £150 5s 4d.
