Born Highgate, London, son of William J. & Hannah Burnard, of 2, Laurel Villas, Marden, Kent. 

Enlisted Canterbury, Kent, age 23 years & 274 days, height 5ft 2 inches, weight 10st 4lbs.  Resided 73 Fitzroy Avenue, Margate, Kent. Formerly waiter.
