Enlisted  Woolwich, SE, age 19 years & 110days, height 5ft 7 inches, weight 120lbs, mole left cheekbone & back of neck.  Resided 10a Queen Street, Greenwich. Formerly labourer in iron works.

13th January 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th January 1915, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th August 1915,  forfeits 8 days pay and deprived of 8 days pay; 18th October 1915, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st November 1915, Shoreham, overstaying his pass from 12.00 midnight 21st November 1915, until 11.15pm 25th November 1915, 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 4 days pay; 10th December 1915, posted Indian Expeditionary Force & 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th December 1915,Keynsham Dockyard, embarked; 8th January 1916, Ashar, disembarked; 29th June 1916, discharged to Base, diarrhoea; 1st July 1916, Khamisiyah, admitted; 18th July 1916, discharged to Duty; 9th September 1916, Khamisiyah, absent from fatigues at 5.30am, 7 days confined to Barracks; 27th May 1917, Busra, proceeded to India per HT "Aronda" for one months leave; 13th July 1917, Bombay, embarked; 19th July, Busra, disembarked; 1st August 1917, joined Battalion In the Field; 2nd October 1917, appointed unpaid Lance Corporal; 12th March 1918, present with Unit; 14th March 1918, Akab, admitted fever; 10th April 1918, Bagdad, 31 Base Stationary Hospital to Convalescent Camp; 22nd April 1918, Convalescent Camp, discharged to Rest Camp; 11th May 1918, rejoined Battalion; 3rd June 1918, reverts to Private at own request.

26th May 1919, date when Separation Allowance of 12/1 a week payable to mother, will cease.
