2nd September 1914, enlisted; 9th October 1914, absent from Tattoo until 9pm on 10th, awarded 7 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 2 days pay; 16th June 1915, posted BEF; 17th February 1916, causing a disturbance, not complying with an order, awarded 10days confined to Barracks; 8th October 1915, wounded in action, stayed at duty; 22nd April 1916, absent without leave from trenches, awarded 10days Field Punishment No.2.; 3rd July 1916, 26 Field Ambulance, wounded; 4th July 1916 transferred to England on Hospital Ship, Egypt; 6th July 1916 to 26th July 1916, The Lord Derby War Hospital, Warrington, shrapnel wound to neck; 28th August 1916, whilst on active service, absent when warned for a draft until 11.40pm on 30th, 7 days Field Punishment No.2., forfeits 7 days pay; 5th September 1916, posted BEF; 18th October 1916, absent from rifle inspection, forfeits one days pay; 3rd May 1917, posted missing.

Commemorated at Arras Memorial, Bay 7, France.
