Private George Anthony HARTMAN(N), G/16754, 1st   Battalion,  Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, died of wounds, (gunshot wound, compound fracture shoulder), at 33 Casualty Clearing Station, Flanders France, 4.30pm 5th March 1917.  

22nd July 1891, born Shoreditch, London, son of Charles & Mary Hartman.

13th March 1913, St Andrews, Hendon, married Elsie Mary Tribe, spinster, of "Trewidden," Union Road, Wembley, Middlesex.

Children - Jessie Elizabeth M Hartman(n), born 1913 December quarter, Hendon; Frederick George T Hartman(n), born 1916 September quarter, Hendon.

Enlisted Dorchester, Dorset, age 29 years & 5 months, height 5ft 8½ inches.  Resided "Trewidden," Union Road, Wembley, Middlesex. Formerly builders clerk & painter.

Home, 10th December 1915 to 17th October 1916; BEF, 18th October 1916 to 5th March 1917. 

Separation Allowance 21/- a week, Allotment of Pay 3/6 a week.

10th December 1915, enlisted; 11th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 18th July 1916, mobilized & posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 18th October 1916, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th October 1916, embarked / disembarked; 5th November 1916, joined Battalion In the Field; 2nd March 1917, wounded.

24th September 1917, Pension  of 22/11 a week awarded to widow and two children.

Buried at Bethune Town Cemetery, VI. B. 82., France.
