20th August 1914, enlisted into Suffolk Regiment & posted Depot; 30th January 1915, transferred to 12th Divisional Cyclist Corps; 29th June 1915, Court of Enquiry, Hounslow Heath, inquiring into the illegal absence & deficiency of kit. The Court declares that No. 2877 Pte Baddeley, Divisional Cyclists Corps, illegally absented himself without leave on the 31st May 1915, & that he still so absent; 21st August 1915, deserted; 13th November 1915, posted 41st Divisional Cyclist Corps; 4th March 1916, passed class of instruction, 2nd Class Grenadier, 168 Company Order; 5th May 1916, embarked; 29th May 1916, transferred to 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 19th November 1916, while on active service leaving his fatigue and returning while ???? without permission, 7 days confined to Barracks; 7th June 1917, wounded & transferred to England; 10th June 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 10th June to 11th June, Fort Pitt Hospital, Chatham, gun shot wound shoulder; 11th June to 16th July 1917, Rusthall Hospital, Tunbridge Wells; 26th July 1917, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd October 1917, posted BEF & embarked; 13th November 1917, with Battalion to Italy; 9th March 1918, posted 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 23rd March 1916, joined 6th Battalion, In the Field; 22nd June 1918, 27 Field Ambulance, debility; 9th July 1918, rejoined Battalion.

Buried at Ville-sur-Ancre Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot B12, Somme, France.
