11th December 1915, enlisted; 12th December 1915, transferred to Army Reserve. 12th December 1915, rejected & attestation form noted not approved by Medical Officer as unfit, deformed tuberculous left leg;
8th August 1916, examined by Medical Officer; 10th August 1916, application as to Exemption for Military Service, made by employer G Cornell & Son, 12 - 14 Gabriels Hill, Maidstone, Kent. Allowance made to Parents of 4/6 a week. Application refused. 8th September 1916 letter from Walter H Day, Solicitor to The Secretary, Medical Board, Whitehall who understand that a Special Medical Board has been set up and there is no appeal from that; 9th September 1916, appeal to Exemption Board submitted. 19th September 1916, appeal dismissed. 6th October 1916, appeared before Special Medical Board and placed in Category "A"; 13th October 1916, Medical Officer signed off as "A1". 13th October 1916, mobilized; 15th October 1916, posted to 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd January 1917, popsted BEF & embarked ; 22nd January 1917, joined Battalion, "B" Company.
Buried at Feuchy Chapel British Cemetery, III. J. 1., Wancourt, Pas de Calais, France.
