7th December 1912, Old Groombridge, Kent. married Ellen Foreman, spinster, of Old Village, Groombridge. Kent.

Enlisted  Tonbridge, Kent, age 38 years & 11 months, height 5ft 1½ inches, 133lbs.  Resided Ashurst Park Lodge, Ashhurst. Formerly vanman.

Separation Allowance of 9/- a week & Allotment of Pay of 3/6 a week payable to wife.

Home, 7th July 1916 to 20th December 1916; BEF, 21st December 1916 to 7th May 1917.

8th July 1916, Called up for Service; 12th July 1916, posted 12th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st September 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st December 1916, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st December 1916, embarked / disembarked; 21st December 1916, joined Battalion, "B" Company, In the Field.

26th November 1917, pension of 13/9 a week awarded to widow.

21st May 1920, Statement of Relatives - Widow - Ellen Howell, Old Village, Groombridge. Kent; Children, none; Father, none; Mother, none; Brothers - George Howell, age 42; Sisters, none; Grandparents, not living.

Commemorated at Arras Memorial, Bay 7, France.
