Enlisted Maidstone, Kent, age 36 years 8 months, height 5ft 5½ inches, weight 135lbs, blue eyes, brown hair. Resided 31 Church Street, Tovil, Maidstone, Kent /123 Carr Street, Walthamstow, NE./  23 Farleigh Hill, Tovil, Maidstone, Kent.  Formerly printers machinist.

Home 17th August 1914 to 14th April 1916; BEF 15th April 1916 to 3rd July 1916.

17th August 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 21st August 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th April 1916, posted BEF & 6th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th April 1916, embarked; 3rd July 1916, posted missing.

12th March 1917, pension of 18/6 a week awarded to widow & two children.

Commemorated at  Thiepval Memorial, Pier & Face 11C, Somme, France.
