9th September 1914, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th September 1914, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 12th February 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 15th March 1915, posted 8th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st August 1915, Blackdown, quitting Barracks without permission and remaining absent until Reveille 4th, deprived 4 days pay, 8 days confined to Barracks, forfeits 4 days pay; 2nd May 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd May 1917,admitted to Metropolitan Hospital, DAH; 17th June 1917, transferred to Army Reserve Class "P".
17th June 1917 discharged as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness. Silver War Badge issued
Pension 8/3 a week for 26 weeks conditional.
