His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men, for acts of gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field, and a statement of services rendered will be published when practicable;

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When the enemy was bombarding very heavily and preparing to counter-attack he assisted in rallying a party of men who were becoming demoralised by the heavy shell- fire, and encouraged them and restored their confidence by his splendid example of contempt of danger.
