12th March 1918, University War Hospital, Southampton - Injury to right foot - 23rd November 1917, Hospital Ship Warilda - Coming over from France on Hospital Ship Warilda, wounded right hand. Was going up from lower deck, the RSM fell from top deck down hatch to 2nd Deck. Hatch fell thru RSM hatch fell onto patients foot. Condition on arrival 23rd November 1917, several abrasions ?????  ????? side right foot swollen, 1st 2nd metacarpal bones fractured with displacement. Much swelling ?????? aspect which was massaged  when healed 15th February 1918, marked deformity, very painful foot, unable to bear weight, or to walk on it. Uses crutches.

10th April 1918, discharged, age 23, as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to sickness  Silver War Badge issued.

10th April 1918, on discharge, age 23 years & 6 months, height 5ft 7 inches, ruddy complexion, blue eyes, dark brown hair, trade house decorator, intended residence,  Forge House, High Street, Marden, Kent, gun shot wound BEF France 1917, deformity right foot, scar on sole. Disability, injury to right foot, discharged from Hospital with crutches and will probably require a surgical boot later.

11th April 1918 to 15th October 1918, pension of 27/6 a week for 26 weeks, 100% disability. 16th October 1918 to 14th October 1919; 26 weeks to 15th April 1919 at 11/- a week, 40% disablement; 26 weeks 15th April 1919 to 14th October 1919 at 8/3 a week, 30% disablement.

Buried at Marden (St Michael) Churchyard, North of Church, near left side of path, Marden, Kent.
