Enlisted Trowbridge, Wiltshire, age 37 years & 3 months, height 5ft 8¼ inches.   Resided Stowford, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire / The Red House, Warsash, Southampton. Formerly grist miller.

7th December 1915, enlisted; 15th December 1915, to Army Reserve; 27th March 1916, mobilized; 30th March 1916, posted 29th Royal Fusiliers, Service No.PS/10896; 28th August 1916, embarked; 29th August 1916, disembarked; 10th September 1918, 39 Infantry Base Depot, Etaples, transferred from 11 Royal Fusiliers to 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

28th February 1917, Probate - Duke Edwin of Stowford Mill, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. Private 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, died 30th September 1916 in France, killed in action. Probate London 28th February  to Louisa Catherine Duke, widow and James Duke, miller. Effects £3015 5s 11d.

14th May 1917, awarded pension of 18/9 a week to widow and one child.

1920 December Quarter, Fareham Registration District, Louisa C Duke married Alec Dixon.

Buried at Mill Road Cemetery, XIX. C. 1., Thiepval, Somme, France.
