Born Maidstone, Kent, son of William & Mercy Abnett. Brother Frederick Abnett. Resided 59 Hartnup Road, Maidstone, Kent.

13th July 1907, Maidstone, Kent married Daisy Gwendoline Ryland, spinster.

8th August 1914,  enlisted Maidstone, Kent, age 29, formerly quarryman.

Previously served 3rd Battalion, The Buffs.

Home, 8th August 1914 to 12th January 1915; BEF, 13th January 1915 to 22nd March 1915.

7th October 1919, War Gratuity of £3 paid to Widow, Daisy Abnett.

Commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial,   Panel 45 and 47.Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
