Born Staplehurst, Kent, son of George & Rebekah King.

1911 Census - Hill Cottage, Boughton Malherbe, Sandway, Maidstone, Kent - Herbert Dodge, head, age 30, married, cowman on farm, worker, born Ditton, Kent; Eliza Dodge, wife, age 29, married 6 years, 1 child, still alive, born East Malling, Kent; Edwin Dodge, son, age 2, born Boughton Malherbe; Ernest King, boarder, age 25, single, waggoner of farm, worker, born Staplehurst, Kent.

1913 June, Hollingbourn Registration District, Ernest A King married Rose Ellen Taylor, of Parsonage Cottage, East Sutton.

Children - Florence Rose King, born 29th November 1914, East Sutton; Dorothy Lily King, born 1st October 1918, East Sutton.

Transferred to (459393) 437th Agricultural Company.

Buried at East Sutton (St Peter & St Paul) Churchyard extension, 4. (In North-West part), United Kingdom. Commemorated on Staplehurst War Memorial
