Enlisted New Cross, Kent, age 18 years & 9 months, height 5ft 4 inches, weight 115lbs. Formerly carman.

20th December 1907, enlisted; 28th July 1909, in Civil Custody; 29th July 1909, in Military Custody; 7th August 1909, tried by Court Martial for desertion and deficiencies in kit, sentenced to 42 days detention to 17th September 1909 with stoppages of 13/-, previous service forfeited; unexpired period of detention 11th  to 17th September 1909 remitted for good conduct; 10th September 1909, from detention; 11th September 1909, to duty; 8th May 1915, Ashway, admitted to 19 C.C. Hospital, gonorrhoea; 9th May 1915, Busra, transferred to No.3.A.Base General Hospital; 6th June 1915, Busra, discharged from Hospital; 21st January 1916, Kut-al-Amara, wounded in action; 23rd January 1916, dangerously wounded.
