Born 5th June 1896, Woodside, Croydon, Surrey, son of William Henry and Charlotte Cutler, of Coney Hall Cottages, West Wickham, Kent.

16th August 1896, St James, Croydon, baptism of Charles Henry Cutler, son of William Henry and Charlotte Cutler.

Enlisted  Bromley, Kent, age 18, height 5ft 7½ inches, weight 140lbs. Formerly cowman.
