Born Lambeth, Surrey, son of Ellen Pepper.

Sister - Mrs Edith Kemp.


1911 Census - Quebee Barracks, Bordon - Charles Pepper, Private, age 22, single, 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, Soldier, born Lambeth.


Enlisted Woolwich, Kent. 

6th February 1915, posted Asiatic Theatre of War.

29th April 1916, captured at Kut-al-Amara  and interred at Naussaybin; 4th November 1918, report from Basra - unofficially reported died whilst a Prisoner of War. 

Commemorated at Baghdad (North Gate) War Cemetery, Nisibin Mem. 244, Iraq.
