Born Greenwich, Kent, son of Charles & Lily Briselden.

Brother of Ernest Briselden, of 44, Giffin St., Deptford, London.

16th November 1887, Christ Church, Greenwich, baptism of Charles George Ernest Briselden, son of Charles, (foreman), & Lily Briselden of 2 Lydia Cottages, Norman Road.

Enlisted Woolwich, Kent. Resided Deptford, Kent.

1911 Census - India, Military - Charles George Ernest Briselden, age 22, single, Private, soldier, 2nd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. Born Greenwich, London.

6th February 1915, posted Asiatic Theatre of War.

Commemorated at Basra Memorial, Panel 29, Iraq.

In pursuance of “The Regimental Debts Acts 1893” notice is hereby given that there is available for distribution amongst the Next of Kin or others entitled the sum of money set opposite to the name of each of the deceased Officers, and Soldiers and Airmen named in the lists which are published with this notice in the London Gazette and the “Army List” and are also to be seen at the Regimental Depots throughout the United Kingdom.

Applications from persons supposing themselves entitled as Next of Kin should be addressed by letter to Secretary, War Office, Imperial Institute, South Kensington, London, SW7 and marked outside “Effects”
