Private Charles George BILLINGS, G/2411, 6th Battalion, Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment. 

Born East Grinstead, Sussex, enlisted 9th September 1914, Tonbridge, Kent, age 20, height 5ft 5 inches. Formerly butcher.

Wounded - 30th September 1916; 12th October 1917, machine gun bullet wounds to thigh & knee, hospitalized in England,  21st October to 8th December 1917.

Son of Jesse Billings, 8 Stockwell Road, East Grinstead, Sussex.

Demobilized 9th April 1919, 8 Stockwell Road, East Grinstead, Sussex.

AWARDS: MM


London Gazette 23rd July 1919.

His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Military Medal for bravery in the field to the under mentioned Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men:

G/2411 Pte. Billings, C. G., 6th Battalion. (East Grinstead).
