2nd February 1909, Southfleet, Kent, married Emma Charlotte Haynes, of Cooks Cottages, Red Street, Southfleet, Kent.

Home 7th December 1914 to 21st April 1915; BEF 22nd April 1915 to 22nd July 1916.

7th December 1914, enlisted; 9th December 1914, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th December 1914, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 13th January 1915, Chatham, absent from Tattoo until 9.00am on 14th, admonished, forfeits 1 days pay; 20th February 1915, Chatham, overstaying his pass from 9.30pm until 9.30pm 21st February, deprived of 2 days pay, forfeits 2 days pay;  22nd April 1915, posted BEF & 1st Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 22nd April 1915 landed at 5 Infantry Base Depot; 25th April 1915, joined Battalion, "B" Company; 22nd July 1916, posted missing. 

26th March 1917, pension of 23/- a week awarded to widow and three children.
