9th October 1915, enlisted; 12th October 1915, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 14th October 1915, posted 9th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th December 1915, posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 2nd May 1916, posted 12th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 1st September 1916, transferred to 23rd Brigade, 99th Training Reserve Battalion; 18th May 1917, transferred to 198455, 14th Company, Labour Corps; 2nd June 1917, posted 366 Company, Labour Corps; 9th June 1917, embarked Folkestone; 9th June 1917, disembarked Boulogne; 9th June 1917, Infantry Base Depot; 13th June 1917, joined 14th Company, Labour Corps, in the Field; 11th August 1917, forfeits 1 days pay for absence from work from 2.30pm till 4.00pm same day; 22nd August 1917, admitted hospital, myalgia; 28th August 1917, 3 Casualty Clearing Station / 136 Field Ambulance; 10th September 1917, to Duty; 11th September 1917, Peronne, admitted hospital, PUO; 18th September 1917, rejoined Company; 5th October 1917, admitted Hospital PUO; 21st October 1917, trench fever; 25th November 1917, rejoined Company; 3rd April 1918, awarded 3 days Field Punishment No.2. leaving the ranks without permission and absent from 6.45am till 10.30am ; 16th July 1918, awarded 5 days Field Punishment No.2. absent off bathing Parade; 27th August 1918 to 10th September 1918, leave to UK; 25th October 1918, admitted to Hospital.
Separation Allowance of 6/4 a week paid to mother Mrs R Buchanan, 3 Sandown Terrace, North Deal, Kent.
