Enlisted Eye, Suffolk, age 19 years & 3 months, height 5ft 5 inches, weight 110lbs.  Resided Norwich Road, Scole, Norfolk. Formerly general labourer on farm.

2nd November 1915, enlisted into Suffolk Regiment, Service No.22519; 4th November 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment; 16th January 1916, Colchester, overstaying his pass from midnight 16th until 11.30am 17th, admonished, forfeits 1 days pay; 21st August 1916, Little Oakley, overstaying his leave form 12.30am on 21st to 10.10pm 21st, admonished, forfeits 1 days pay; 1st September 1916, transferred to 26 Training Reserve Battalion; 18th September 1916, Harwich, absent from 6.45asm Parade, 3 days confined to Barracks; 22nd September 1916, posted BEF & 7th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 9th December 1916, In the Field, making an improper remark to an NCO, 3 days confined to Barracks; 28th February 1917, joined Infantry Base Depot, Etaples ex Front; 16th March 1917, proceeded to join Battalion; 7th April 1917, In the Field, laughing in the ranks & insolence to an NCO, 7 days Field Punishment No.1; 23rd July 1917, In the Field, losing by neglect Government property 4 L G ????? & 1 bucket, 14 days Field Punishment No.1. & pay for deficiencies.

25th August 1917, allotment of pay of 1/9 a week continuing to brother George Buckingham.
